The Carolina Panthers have added former Pro Bowl cornerback DeAngelo Hall to their coaching staff following last week's firings of defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero and defensive passing game coordinator Jonathan Cooley.

The Panthers announced Monday that they brought back Hall, a former standout player with Atlanta and Washington, as their cornerbacks coach with 10 games remaining in the 2026 season.

Hall, 42, previously worked for the Panthers as assistant defensive backs coach from 2023 to 2024.

The move will reunite Hall with interim defensive coordinator Todd Wash, who also joined the team in 2023 as part of Evero's defensive staff. Wash was promoted from defensive line coach to interim defensive coordinator by coach Dave Canales on Friday.

Starting cornerbacks Jaycee Horn (quad) and Mike Jackson (groin) remain on injured reserve, as does special teams ace Akayleb Evans (triceps). Rookie Will Lee III has been a fill-in starter at the position but suffered a hamstring injury in last week's loss to the Green Bay Packers. Chau Smith-Wade, a 2024 fifth-round pick, and Malcolm DeWalt, who was recently promoted from the practice squad, are the only healthy cornerbacks on the 53-man roster entering Week 9.

The Panthers elevated journeyman Marco Wilson from the practice squad to the game-day roster last week to start against the Packers. The team also has Zion Childress, DeVonta Smith, Corey Thornton, Robert Rochell and Caelen Carson at the position on the practice squad.
