Minnesota Vikings vs. Detroit Lions: Game Highlights (1:04)

The Minnesota Vikings' 19-15 loss to the Detroit Lions on Sunday ensured that another NFL season will pass without an undefeated team. It prompted celebration from one Pro Football Hall of Famer: Larry Csonka, a member of the 1972 Miami Dolphins.

The Vikings entered Week 8 with a 6-0 record as the last unbeaten team. Their loss continues the Dolphins' 54-year streak as the only team in the Super Bowl era (since 1966) to complete a regular season and postseason undefeated. The Dolphins went 17-0 in the 1972 season en route to a Super Bowl VII win.

Csonka commemorated the feat on social media. He shared an image of himself raising a glass with a cigar in hand to celebrate another year that the Dolphins' undefeated record stands alone. Csonka rocked his Super Bowl ring, too.

The fullback posted a similar photo in 2024 when the Kansas City Chiefs' undefeated season ended with a loss in Week 11.

Csonka had a key role in Miami's invincible campaign. He led the team in rushing with 1,117 yards and scored six touchdowns, second most on the Dolphins. Csonka had 119 yards on the ground in Super Bowl VII, including a 49-yard scamper.

The closest any team came to taking down the Dolphins' record was in the 2007 campaign when the New England Patriots entered Super Bowl XLII at 18-0 but were upset by the New York Giants.

Arguably the league's most unbreakable record extended into one more campaign -- and Csonka made sure to acknowledge it.
