Yulo bested Iran's Mahdi Olfati, who scored 14.533, and Hong Kong's Ng Ka Ki, who finished with 14.166
Yulo, 26, registered 14.733 in his first vault attempt and 14.599 in his second try.
The Filipino secured a spot in the vault final despite a shaky start, scoring 13.166 after a bad landing on his first vault in qualification. He bounced back on his second try, registering 14.133 for an average of 13.649, good for seventh place.
His redemption win in the vault final boosted the Philippines' medal tally to seven, with two golds, one silver, and four bronze medals.
