Tottenham academy prospect Luca Williams-Barnett has shown in just a few moments why he is definitely a young player "to look out for," according to former England captain Steven Gerrard.
The 18-year-old made his Premier League debut with a late substitute appearance in the 2-0 win over 10-man Crystal Palace on Saturday.
Spurs boss Roberto De Zerbi feels Williams-Barnett is a "great talent" and was pleased by the way the attack-minded midfielder looked to make the most of his opportunity, swiftly breaking down the wing and crossing for Mohammed Kudus, who could not provide a finish.
Former Liverpool skipper Gerrard has already seen enough to firm up the positive feedback he already had about the 18 year old.
"I have heard his name mentioned to me through the England ranks a few times," Gerrard said on The Overlap Daily.
"If I am a Tottenham fan, I am going away buzzing with the result and the win and the clean sheet, and Spurs are obviously in this new place, this new confidence -- but this young kid is going to be a player.
"I have seen enough in the cameo... He went on this little jinky run down the left and he put a cross, a ball across the front. It was like the Declan Rice cross.
"I just thought to myself, they have got their own little [Liverpool forward] Rio Ngumoha. So look out for this boy, I really like him...the young boy, Williams-Barnett, [he is] one to watch -- in capitals."
Williams-Barnett was first named in a senior matchday squad at the age of 16 under former Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou during the 2024-25 campaign.
A senior debut came in the Carabao Cup last season and he came off the bench again during the closing stages of the 5-1 win over Charlton in August.
Williams-Barnett called his Premier League bow a "dream come true" and is looking forward to more chances with the first team to showcase his talents.
"As I have got on the ball [against Palace,] I wasn't really scared. I just wanted to get the ball and show what I can do, and really just enjoy it," Williams-Barnett said in a short video of his cameo on the Spurs official club website.

"I was on the sideline and I was thinking, 'how could I get this crowd going even more?' I just feel like this is surreal."
Tottenham will look to continue their resurgence at Leeds on Saturday.
Defenders Pedro Porro, who came on at half time against Palace, and Destiny Udogie both got more minutes under their belt with substitute appearances, so could come into contention.
