The New York Red Bulls' teenage forward Julian Hall said the decision on his international allegiance was still "not solidified," despite earning a first call-up to the U.S. men's national team on Thursday.
The 18-year-old was one of 13 newcomers named in coach Mauricio Pochettino's first roster since the United States' World Cup exit at the hands of Belgium this summer.

Hall was born in New York City but holds dual U.S. and Polish citizenship, and has been seen wearing the name "Zakrzewski" on the back of his jersey in a nod to his Polish mother.
"I think it's definitely not solidified for me," Hall told The New York Post on Thursday following his first call-up to the USMNT.
"I appreciate the opportunity and I'm going to do as much as I can to make an impact, but I'm definitely still open to my Polish side. That's a side that I cherish a lot, especially because my mom is from there. I wouldn't say it's solidified."
Hall has represented the U.S. at U15 and U17 level but has also been called up to Poland youth national team camps.
He could make his senior debut for the U.S. in the coming weeks. The USMNT will play a series of friendlies against Peru, Chile, Canada and Mexico from Sept. 26 through Oct. 6.
Even if Hall appears in those games, he could still opt to represent Poland. FIFA rules state that a player is only committed to a nation once they have appeared in a competitive game, defined as "a competition for representative teams organized by FIFA or any confederation," for which friendlies do not count.
Speaking to ESPN last month, Hall gave no indication as to which direction he was leaning.
"I have two great nationalities that have been interested," Hall said.
"I grew up with my mom who is Polish and my father's side is American and I respect both nationalities. But right now I've been pretty neutral with my approach to that."
After making his professional debut in 2023, Hall is enjoying a breakout season with the Red Bulls and has nine goals and five assists in 25 MLS appearances.
He will have familiar company when he joins up with the USMNT later this month, with Red Bulls teammate Adri Mehmeti another of those to earn their first call-up on Thursday.
