The full-time whistle goes then, and it's a rare win for Tottenham at Stamford Bridge as they defeat 10-man Chelsea 2-0! It's their first win at the home of their London rivals since April 2018, and just their second at Stamford Bridge in the past 37 years! It was a very tepid first half, and in truth the second took a while to get going as well. But Spurs took the lead with a literal helping hand from Penders, who punched Fernandes' corner beyond his own goalline. Palmer then saw red for a second bookable offence when he hacked at Gallagher, having earlier reacted badly to a Fernandes handball. Tel then put the game beyond doubt, drilling into the bottom-left corner at the end of a fantastic solo run. Psychologically, this feels very big for Tottenham, who had only won their first league game of the season at home to Coventry last time out. De Zerbi's side had the higher xG of 0.74 to a poor 0.43 for Chelsea, and though it might seem like there wasn't a lot in the game, Spurs were far the better team. It's a first home defeat for Alonso, whose side are fourth but could drop after Sunday's game. Spurs, meanwhile, are up to 12th after back-to-back Premier League wins.
