Nicol: Alonso got everything wrong vs. Tottenham (1:12)

Dele Alli was the hero during Tottenham's win at Chelsea in 2018 and he provided good luck for his old club on Saturday after he watched on at Stamford Bridge.

An own-goal by Mike Penders and Mathys Tel's superb solo effort inspired Spurs to only a second victory at Chelsea in the Premier League era for a statement result for Roberto De Zerbi's new-look group.

One of those in attendance was former Tottenham attacker Dele, who posted on his Instagram story a selfie at Stamford Bridge alongside ex-Chelsea captain John Terry.

Dele, 30, has not played since a spell with Como during the 2024-25 season, but has been active on social media in recent weeks and teased his followers with an image asking "who can guess where I'm going?" before it was followed by an image of Stamford Bridge.

A shot alongside Terry was sent out pre-match and Dele then filmed the scoreboard as Spurs went ahead in the 77th minute.

And the one-time England international poked fun at Chelsea at full-time with a picture on his story that was captioned "empty seat here now" with Terry nowhere to be seen as Dele savoured Tottenham ending their Stamford Bridge hoodoo.
