Ravens QB Joe Fagnano (ankle) has chance to play Thursday, per Jesse Minter

OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- With the Baltimore Ravens' top three quarterbacks dealing with injuries, coach Jesse Minter was not definitive on who will be his starter for Thursday night's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

In addition to Lamar Jackson (right thumb) and Tyler Huntley (toe) being ruled out for Thursday's game, the Ravens' No. 3 quarterback Joe Fagnano is dealing with an ankle injury.

"To Joe's credit, he's kind of fighting through a couple things he's dealing with," Minter said after Monday night's walk-through, "but expect him to have a chance to play on Thursday."

Fagnano was listed as a limited participant in Monday's walk-through practice.

Fagnano would become just the second undrafted rookie quarterback to start in the Ravens' 32-year history. The first undrafted rookie quarterback to start for Baltimore was Anthony Brown during the Ravens' 27-16 loss in the 2022 season finale at the Cincinnati Bengals.

The only healthy quarterback on the roster is Austin Reed, who was signed to the practice squad Monday. Reed, 26, has familiarity with the offensive system because he spent time at Ravens training camp this summer and also played under offensive coordinator Declan Doyle when they were both in Chicago last year.

Asked if the Ravens' quarterback situation is up in the air, Minter replied, "I think we'll figure that out over the next day or two."

Minter indicated that Baltimore could have a more definitive timetable on Jackson sometime this week. After Sunday's 36-10 loss at Buffalo, Minter said Jackson's injury "potentially" could be season-ending. Jackson, who will go on injured reserve, has not had surgery on his right thumb yet, according to Minter.

"I think when you lose a guy like Lamar, it's a little bit of every phase doing a little bit more," Minter said. "So, it's being able to play really good defense, being able to maybe make a play or steal a play on special teams, maybe a different style of offense of how we need to play."

Huntley, the Ravens' primary backup quarterback, will not play Thursday night, according to Minter. "We'll see how it goes from a long-term standpoint," Minter said.

The Ravens (4-4), who have lost three straight to fall into last place in the AFC North, are set to make a change at kicker. Minter said kicker Tyler Loop "potentially" might go on injured reserve because of a right groin injury.

"I would say [Loop was] dealing with something small that it kind of became a little bit more and leave it at that," Minter said.

Loop was listed as a nonparticipant in Monday's walk-through.

In his second season, Loop has struggled with consistency. He is 2-of-6 inside 50 yards, missing a 34-yard field goal attempt Sunday.

The Ravens have Jake Moody, a third-round pick in 2023 by the San Francisco 49ers, on the practice squad. Asked if Moody will kick Thursday, Minter said, "At this point, yes."

The Ravens are 8.5-point underdogs to the Jaguars, according to DraftKings. This marks their largest underdog role at home since December 2021, when they were 9-point underdogs to the Green Bay Packers.
