ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Lamar Jackson's return lasted one play.
Jackson, the star quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens, was ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game at the Buffalo Bills with a right thumb injury.
He hurt his thumb on his first play in Sunday's game. While throwing a pass, Jackson had his right hand struck by the hand of Bills outside linebacker Greg Rousseau, who was attempting to knock down the throw.
The two-time NFL MVP immediately looked down at his hand and went to the sideline. He went into the tunnel with his right hand wrapped and held by a trainer.
It only got worse for the Ravens in the second quarter, when Tyler "Snoop" Huntley, who was 2-for-4 for zero yards, left the game with a right toe injury. Huntley is considered questionable to return.
With Jackson and Huntley injured, Baltimore turned to No. 3 quarterback Joe Fagnano, an undrafted rookie out of Connecticut. This is Fagnano's first regular-season appearance after an impressive preseason.
This was Jackson's first game back after missing the past three games with a high ankle sprain. It's a devastating loss for Baltimore, which had scored only five touchdowns in the previous 14 quarters without Jackson.
The Ravens (4-3) are looking to avoid a three-game losing streak.
