OXNARD, Calif. -- The Dallas Cowboys and star defensive tackle Quinnen Williams agreed to a three-year extension worth $105.9 million, sources told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport on Monday.
The deal includes $101 million guaranteed and $63.35 million guaranteed at signing, according to sources. The $35.3 million annual average is the second highest among defensive tackles.
Williams, 28, was signed through 2027 in a four-year extension worth $96 million that guaranteed him $66 million from the New York Jets in 2023. He is now signed through 2030.
The Cowboys acquired Williams at last year's trade deadline for a second-round pick in 2026, a 2027 first-rounder and defensive tackle Mazi Smith.
In seven games last year following the trade from the Jets, Williams was credited with 20 tackles, 1.5 sacks, 33 quarterback pressures, two tackles for loss and a pass breakup. For his career, the four-time Pro Bowl selection has 342 tackles with 41.5 sacks, 60 tackles for loss, 134 pressures, 15 pass breakups, eight forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and two interceptions. He was a first-team All-Pro in 2022 when he posted a career-best 12 sacks for the Jets.
Williams is the fourth defensive tackle to agree to a deal averaging more than $30 million per season. The Philadelphia Eagles signed Jalen Carter to a four-year extension worth $152 million ($38 million annually), while Jeffery Simmons of the Tennessee Titans averages $35.2 million and Chris Jones of the Kansas City Chiefs averages $31.75 million.
In March of 2025, the Cowboys signed Osa Odighizuwa to a four-year, $80 million deal, which had been the largest in team history for a defensive tackle. Odighizuwa was traded to the San Francisco 49ers in the offseason for a third-round pick after the organization did not see him as a fit in defensive coordinator Christian Parker's new scheme.
At the start of training camp, executive vice president Stephen Jones said the team wanted to get a long-term extension done with Williams. Williams' agent, Nicole Lynn of Klutch Sports, attended Saturday's practice, spending time with members of the front office. Two days later, a deal was agreed upon.
In the past year, the Cowboys have been able to get deals done early with Pro Bowl guard Tyler Smith, Pro Bowl kicker Brandon Aubrey, tight end Jake Ferguson, cornerback DaRon Bland and fullback Hunter Luepke.
