Texas Tech star tight end Terrance Carter Jr. will miss Saturday's game against Sam Houston as he battles an AC joint issue, sources told ESPN's Pete Thamel.
Carter also missed Tech's game at Oregon State earlier in the year with a foot injury.
The senior has five catches for 62 yards this season. He is rated as the No. 3 overall prospect at the position for the 2027 NFL draft by ESPN's Jordan Reid.
Carter caught 55 passes for 624 yards and five touchdowns for the No. 11 Red Raiders last season.
Texas Tech will also continue to be without cornerback Amier Boyd, who missed last week's game vs. Houston with an undisclosed injury.
