Setting the schedule for Thursday at Patriots training camp

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The New England Patriots will practice at 1:45 p.m. ET on Thursday, marking their eighth practice since camp began July 30.

Weather check: Temperatures are expected to be in the high 70s/low 80s at the start of Thursday's practice. It should be clear.

Dress code: After practicing Wednesday night in shorts and light shoulder pads, the expectation is that players are back in full pads Thursday. The team has had four full-pads practices and three with shorts/light shoulder pads.

Recapping Wednesday's developments: Light work for both quarterback Tom Brady and tight end Rob Gronkowski, as they hardly practiced. At quarterback, that left the majority of reps for Jimmy Garoppolo, which was the top storyline of the night. ... An announced crowd of 23,497 showed up for practice inside Gillette Stadium for the annual season-ticket-holder session, and players felt the energy. ... Defensive end Jabaal Sheard, in his first year with the club, said it feels like he's been a Patriot forever. ... Bill Belichick explained that there was a lot of work in the kicking game, as the team worked from daylight to night, just as it will have to do during preseason games. ... Brady's personal emails, which were disclosed as part of a court filing in New York, included one in which he compared himself to Peyton Manning and talked about hoping to play seven or eight more years compared to Manning's two. ... Rookie tight end AJ Derby cleared waivers and reverted to injured reserve.
