All it took was two years to bring the city out.
Last weekend, the Golden State Valkyries ended the Atlanta Dream's hopes of winning their first title when they knocked off the Angel Reese-led squad 68-63 in the first Game 7 in WNBA history.
And to celebrate, just like any other championship-winning franchise, they're taking their trophy through downtown to celebrate Wednesday.
The parade, which will take place in San Francisco, will begin at noon PT and go until 2 p.m. Its route will start at the Ferry Building near Mission Street and will end at King and 2nd Street, according to the franchise.
"Our fans have been with us since day one. They sold out every game, traveled with us and made Ballhalla one of the best environments in sports. This parade is our chance to celebrate this championship with all of them," Valkyries president Jess Smith said in a statement.
The Valkyries debuted as a franchise in 2024 and now, two years later, they became the third team across the NBA, BAA and WNBA to win a title within their first two seasons as a franchise, according to Elias Sports Bureau. They also became the first WNBA team to win a title despite not having any All-WNBA players on their roster.
Now, they have the ultimate achievement to celebrate. Here are the best sights and sounds from the Valkyries' championship parade.
