Gomez: USMNT can't underestimate Haiti in Nations League quarterfinals (2:06)

Gio Reyna 's participation for the United States in this month's Concacaf Nations League quarterfinals could be in jeopardy after he exited Strasbourg's Ligue 1 loss to Toulouse on Friday with an apparent thigh injury.

Reyna scored his third goal of a bounce back season with Strasbourg in the 67th minute. However, just three minutes later he signaled to the sideline for a substitution after appearing to feel discomfort in his left thigh. After leaving the field, Reyna headed straight down the tunnel.

Earlier this week, the 23-year-old had been named in Mauricio Pochettino's roster to face Haiti in a two-legged quarterfinal series.

The No. 16 United States faces 84th-ranked Haiti on Nov. 14 in Miami and Nov. 17 in Cincinnati for a berth in the Nations League semifinals, which will be played from March 22-30 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

Reyna has suffered a series of injuries in recent seasons that derailed his time in the Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund and Borussia Monchengladbach and hampered his progress with the U.S. men's national team.

However, following a promising World Cup, Reyna has impressed with his form and fitness this campaign. He started all four games for the U.S. -- all wins -- in the September-October international window, registering two assists.

Reyna wasn't the only American to score in Friday's clash in France's top tier, with defender Mark McKenzie netting Toulouse's second goal in their 3-1 win.

Earlier on Friday, McKenzie was named as a replacement for injured defender George Campbell on the USMNT roster.

Friday's win marked Toulouse's second victory in its last four matches for 10th place. Strasbourg has lost five of its last six matches and sat 13th in the 18-team table.
