Pedro Porro has denied receiving offers from Barcelona and Real Madrid this summer but the Tottenham right-back has said that he would like to return to play in Spain one day.
Porro, who signed a contract extension with Tottenham until June 2031 before helping Spain win the World Cup in the summer, told El Larguero: "Obviously, I'm really looking forward to returning to Spain one day. It's my country and I like the league.
"Right now, it would be very unfair to talk about anything other than my club because I'm under contract. They [Spurs] have shown me a lot of respect, which is mutual."
Asked if Madrid and Barcelona made an offer to sign him in the last transfer window, Porro said: "No. There was interest because they ask what your situation is but there wasn't real interest. There were rumours, but I was focused on doing well for my country.
"If there's genuine interest, they call you directly, and that didn't happen. Some clubs did enquire to find out my situation, but there was no genuine interest. I didn't want to pay too much attention to it."
Porro, 27, believes Madrid and Barça may have been deterred by Tottenham's high asking price. "Probably," he said. "They [Spurs] rate me as one of the best.
"But I sorted out my contract renewal before the World Cup so I could have peace of mind during the tournament, because that has a big impact on your performance."
Porro made 47 appearances in all competitions last season, the most of anyone in Roberto De Zerbi's squad. He insists he is happy at the north London club. "I feel very much loved and that's very important to me," he said.
"They [Spurs] offered me a good contract, although if I'd waited until after the World Cup I'd have got a bit more out of it."
Porro joined Spurs on a permanent transfer from Sporting CP in the summer of 2023 having initially signed on loan in January 2023.

In the event he decides to return to Spain in the future, Porro believes he would have no problem adapting to any LaLiga club.
Asked if he would be better suited to play at Barcelona or Real Madrid, the former Real Valladolid player said: "I see myself as a player who can adapt to anything. I've adapted to the Premier League, which is by no means easy."
