Chelsea coach Xabi Alonso insists Estêvão will have "his moment" this season, with the teenage winger having only played 172 minutes.
Estêvão, 19, has started in just two games under head coach Xabi Alonso and was an unused substitute in Chelsea's defeat on penalties to Liverpool in Wednesday's Carabao Cup quarterfinal.
"I understand his situation and that he could be happier for sure," Xabi Alonso said in a post-match news conference when asked about the Brazil international's limited playing time.
"Every player wants to play, wants to be part of the team. We have had some intense games and there will be moments for everything. I'm sure Este [Estêvão] will have his moment. It's my responsibility and we need to deal with that."
Estêvão, who missed the 2026 World Cup through a hamstring injury, made 12 Premier League starts last season and had eight goals in all competitions under Enzo Maresca and Liam Rosenior.
