The United States men's national team will play its next two Concacaf Nations League quarterfinal matches at home in Miami and Cincinnati, Ohio, after Concacaf honored Haiti's request to have its home game moved to Nu Stadium.
Concacaf on Thursday approved the Haitian Football Federation's request to move the first leg against the United States from its "home" venue of Kingston, Jamaica.
Haiti will now host the USMNT in Miami on Nov. 14 before facing off in the second leg of the series three days later in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Gang violence has displaced nearly 1.5 million people in Haiti in recent years, with more than 5,700 people killed or injured from January through mid-September and more than 230 people kidnapped, according to the United Nations.
Haiti has been unable to play any "home" games within their borders since July 2021 after the 2021 assassination of president Jovenel Moïse. In March 2024, Haiti's long-standing national stadium, the Stade Sylvio Cator, was overtaken by gangs.
"Under this exceptional arrangement, the FHF may be permitted to play its designated home matches in Concacaf-sanctioned competitions in the territory of its opponents, rather than being limited to the Caribbean region as required under the current regulations," Concacaf said in a news release.
"This flexibility will remain in place for as long as the security situation in Haiti persists. However, each match will require separate approval from the Concacaf Administration, agreement of the respective opposing Member Association, and confirmation that the selected host stadium fully complies with Concacaf's stadium guidelines."
Concacaf rules originally state that if the country cannot host a match in its territory after failing to meet "applicable requirements" the confederation would designate a neutral venue to be located within the same region.
"The decision follows a formal request submitted by the FHF to the Concacaf Administration, which was subsequently referred to the Concacaf Council for consideration," Concacaf said in a statement.
Haiti recently hosted Nations League group stage matches at Sabina Park in Kingston, Jamaica, where the first leg of the quarterfinals series versus the United States was going to be played originally.
Haiti "hosted" Trinidad-Tobago on Sept. 24 and Costa Rica on Sept. 27 in Jamaica.
The U.S. men's national team will close out 2026 with a match in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, against longtime Concacaf rival Jamaica on Dec. 13.
