Ruben Amorim insisted he had "nothing to say" about Manchester United ahead of AC Milan's Europa League clash at Bournemouth on Thursday night.
The 41-year-old was sacked by United in January after 14 months in charge, and was appointed by the Serie A side in June.
Amorim revealed he does not think he has changed as a person since his time with the Red Devils, but believes he has become better at his job.
"Overall, I think the important thing is that I'm here as AC Milan's manager," said Amorim, speaking at a press conference at the Vitality Stadium and quoted by Milan News.
"I have nothing to say about United. I can say that I loved the club and the atmosphere: what happened doesn't change that.
"Then I moved on, now I'm at AC Milan and I'm focused on this: at every big club, problems are always around the corner. I focus on ourselves and I don't think about the teams. My past at United doesn't matter; what I said when I signed there remains the same."
Amorim revealed Samuel Chukwueze is out with a hip problem, and Gonçalo Ramos has sustained a calf strain, and expects 19-year-old Alphadjo Cissè, who he believes has reached only "50 per cent of his potential" to feature in Thursday's line-up to face the Cherries.
"I have more experience as a coach, but I'm not a different person," Amorim added, reflecting on his spell with United.
"I understand football better, and that will help me deal with problems in the future. I think I'm the same person, just a little more experienced in some things."
The man who replaced Amorim at United, Michael Carrick, has seen his position come under serious pressure in recent weeks as the club have endured a torrid start to the new season.
His team were beaten 4-1 by Cesc Fabregas' Como in Italy on Wednesday in a match that saw Carrick and Fernandes appear to trade barbs through their post-match comments to the travelling media.
