COMO, Italy -- Michael Carrick has said he feels the backing of the Manchester United board -- but admits it will only continue if he starts winning games.
United, who face Como in the Champions League on Wednesday, are on a run of six games without a win.

A difficult start to the season has piled the pressure on Carrick with questions mounting about his future. And while the 45-year-old insists he has support of club chiefs, he accepts results need to change.
"I don't need any reassurance," Carrick told a news conference on Tuesday.
"It's pretty clear. I know the role, I know my responsibilities. I don't need anyone else to tell me that or tell me when it's going well or when it needs to be better.
"I know that myself. I know the realities and I've got no problem with that. I know we've got to win football games for everything to flow and everything to fall into place. That's the great thing about it, you know? We can do something about it."
Asked specifically whether he feels the backing of minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, CEO Omar Berrada and director of football Jason Wilcox, Carrick said: "Yeah, why wouldn't I?
"I'm in this position, I have a good relationship, a really good relationship with everyone, everybody at the football club. There's really no issues and no problems with any of that side. We've got to win games of football and that's what we're striving to do."
United are looking for their first away win in the Champions League since beating Villarreal in November 2021 when Carrick was interim boss following the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
With nine senior players injured, ill or suspended, Matthijs de Ligt could make his first appearance following an 11-month absence with a back injury.
"It's great to have him back," Carrick said of the Dutch defender.
"He's had such a long journey, being patient and he's worked hard. We're delighted to have him back. He's fit, he's ready, he's been training for a number of weeks now, so he's in a really good place."
Kobbie Mainoo, Lisandro Martínez, Luke Shaw, Marcus Rashford and Ayden Heaven are among those who haven't made the trip to Italy. Leny Yoro is suspended after he was sent off in the 2-0 defeat to Atlético Madrid last week.
