Barcelona president Joan Laporta has argued that the Camp Nou should host the 2030 World Cup final.
The news comes in the midst of a disagreement between Spain and Morocco over which country should host the showpiece game at the end of a tournament which will mostly be split between the two nations and Portugal.
Both Spain and Morocco have previously claimed that they would host the final -- Spain in January and Morocco earlier this month.
"The World Cup final shouldn't be in Casablanca nor Madrid, it should be at the Spotify Camp Nou," Laporta told Spanish radio network Cadena SER on Wednesday.
"I say this for a reason: 105,000 fans," he added, referencing the stadium's planned capacity after its renovation is completed.
"I think that FIFA will take this into account. And besides ... We already had a World Cup final at the Santiago Bernabeu in 1982.
"With all respect to Morocco, the 2030 World Cup final should be played in the Spanish state. Besides, Spain are the world champions."
FIFA are yet to announce where the final will be held, telling Efe news agency last week that the decision will be made "in due course."
Laporta confirmed that he planned to propose to FIFA the idea of hosting the final at Barcelona's home.
"The 2030 World Cup final in the Spotify Camp Nou would mean the international recognition that we want, and we will propose it," he said.
"We will argue these reasons and others that we are sure will occur to us."
On top of the matches being held in Spain, Portugal and Morocco, one game will be held in each of Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay to mark the centenary of the 1930 World Cup, which took place in Montevideo.
