Leon Goretzka has joined rebuilding Aston Villa on a free transfer from Bayern Munich.
The 31-year-old won seven Bundesliga titles, three German Cups and the 2020 Champions League during a success-filled spell in Bavaria.
Goretzka, who has made 73 appearances for Germany, has moved on a free to Villa, who have not specified the length of his contract.
"It's a really good feeling to sign here," the German told the Aston Villa club website.
"I had a bit of long vacation, and it was a process to find out what I really wanted. From the first moment, I had a really good feeling, and I'm really happy to be here.
"I had a good feeling from the first conversation with the coach. Aston Villa, for me, is a really big club.
"It took me a while to find out what I really want to do now with my next step, and here, from the first moment, I had a good feeling. I'm really appreciating that I'm here."

Goretzka joins Villa as the eighth arrival of a busy summer. He joins fellow midfield signings Johan Manzambi and João Gomes, as well as the likes of Zion Suzuki, Matteo Ruggeri and Alejandro Garnacho.
It has been a turbulent few months for the Birmingham club, having lost a number of key names that helped them to the Europa League title last season -- namely Morgan Rogers, Ezri Konsa, Youri Tielemans and Lucas Digne.
Villa's season got off the worst possible start on Sunday when they lost 4-0 to Brighton. They are next in action on Monday when they welcome champions Arsenal to Villa Park.
