Ipswich Town are close to signing Tammy Abraham on a season-long loan from Aston Villa, sources have told ESPN.
Abraham, 28, moved to Aston Villa from Besiktas in January. But after just eight months, he is set to swap Unai Emery's side for Premier League newcomers Ipswich on a straight loan deal.
The England striker will become the club's 14th summer signing, with Ipswich also close to agreeing a move for Bayer Leverkusen's World Cup-winning Argentina midfielder Exequiel Palacios.
Ipswich will now focus on trimming their squad ahead of Tuesday's transfer deadline, sources have told ESPN.
Abraham will bring a wealth of experience to Ipswich's forward options. He has 11 caps for England and has played in the Premier League, Serie A and the Turkish Süper Lig.
Abraham started his career at Chelsea and broke into their first team, winning the Champions League in 2021. Roma then snapped him up for £34 million ($46m) in August 2021.

There he won the 2022 Europa Conference League title, before moving to Serie A rivals AC Milan on loan for the 2024-25 campaign.
Besiktas then loaned him for the 2025-26 campaign, and the club announced his permanent signing from Roma on Jan. 26 for around £12m. Just a day later he moved to Aston Villa for a fee in the region of £18m.
It was Abraham's second spell at Villa having spent the 2018-19 season on loan there.
On his return to Villa Park, he scored three goals in 17 appearances and helped them to the 2026 Europa League title, but after a summer of upheaval at Aston Villa, Abraham will be on the move again.
