Burley questions if Marmoush & Savinho improve Tottenham (2:33)

Tottenham have agreed on a deal worth up to £85 million ($116m) to sign Savinho from Manchester City, sources told ESPN.

Spurs will pay an initial £75m plus a further £10m in performance related add-ons, of which £5m is easily achievable, ending a long-running pursuit of the 22-year old which dates back to last summer.

Sources said Tottenham remain in talks over a separate deal for City forward Omar Marmoush.

Savinho made just 53 appearances for City -- registering two goals and 12 assists -- after joining City from Troyes in 2024 for €40m.

He will now undergo a medical before signing a long-term contract at Spurs. The deal takes Spurs' spending past £300m this summer after signing Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes and Jan Paul van Hecke in addition to free agents Marcos Senesi, Andy Robertson and Martin Dúbravka.

They have recouped around £140m through the departures of Luka Vuskovic, Cristian Romero and Djed Spence.

Savinho was left out of City's squad for last Sunday's Community Shield defeat to Arsenal in Cardiff while talks continued.

Spurs failed in a bid to sign the winger last summer when Savinho chose to stay and fight for his place in the City first team. He would go on to make just seven Premier League starts in Pep Guardiola's final campaign in charge.

Spurs coach Roberto De Zerbi is due to speak Friday ahead of the club's Premier League opener at Brentford on Saturday.
