Bruno Guimarães has revealed a message from Declan Rice as he completed his move to Arsenal which ended their on-pitch "fights."
Arsenal have signed Guimarães from Newcastle for a fixed £75 million ($101m) on a four-year deal with the option of one more season, adding him to their squad of reigning Premier League champions.
He will slot into a midfield which includes key man Rice -- who is eager to end his physical confrontations with Guimarães.
"Rice sent me a message: 'Come here and please no more fights, now we're friends,'" Guimarães said after completing his switch to the Emirates.
"I was happy he messaged me, but the midfield we have here, in my point of view, is one of the best in Europe.
"Everyone is an amazing player, I'm so excited to start chatting and play, and know the players very, very well, but we have an amazing midfield."
Guimarães is also familiar with Brazilian compatriots Gabriel Magalhães, Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus. Guimarães, Gabriel Magalhães and Martinelli were a part of the Brazil squad at this summer's World Cup who lost to Norway in the round of 16.
His fellow Brazilians have already told Guimaraes "only good things" about Arsenal, he says.
"Big Gabi was very excited," Guimarães added. "Every time he sent me the message, 'we'll wait for you, when will you come?'
"I'm so excited to join them, not only the Brazilians, we have an amazing squad here. I'm so excited to meet the other players, to start training. I just want to give my best."
Guimarães said about his decision to leave Newcastle for Arsenal: "After playing two World Cups, I think I'm at the point of my life, I think I need a challenge like this. I want to win trophies, I want to make history and I think I'm in the right place to do it.

"I'm so excited to start. We have tough games to play this season, so the squad is going to be very, very important and I'm hopeful we can achieve our dreams."
He told Arsenal fans what to expect from him: "I can pass the ball, run a lot and play like a warrior, I'll never give up. I will try to help the team, good with the ball, composed, very calm, and sometimes I can score some goals and hope to make everyone very, very happy here."
Guimarães has scored 30 goals and made 25 assists in 153 Premier League appearances for Newcastle since joining from French side Lyon in 2022.
