- Arsenal are leading the race to sign Inter Milan striker Pio Esposito, amid interest from rivals Manchester United, according to The Sun. The 21-year-old is reportedly valued at £73 million by the Nerazzurri, with the Red Devils keen on a deal but not rushing into discussions. Arsenal, on the other hand, are keen on adding more firepower to the frontline if Gabriel Jesus leaves, as he continues to be linked with a move to Napoli. At a towering 6-foot-3, Esposito is an ideal center forward option for either Premier League side.
- Newcastle United have told Manchester United that Lewis Hall is not available for transfer this summer, Sky Sports reports. The Red Devils are claimed to have made an inquiry for the left-back, but the Magpies are determined to keep hold of the defender after losing the likes of Anthony Gordon, Sandro Tonali, and Bruno Guimarães this summer. Manchester United remain on the lookout for a left-sided defender, with Luke Shaw the only natural option there, with Patrick Dorgu expected to play a more advanced role.
- Manchester City are in the final phase of discussions over a deal to sign Ayyoub Bouaddi from Lille, according to Footmercato. The 18-year-old Morocco international had impressed during the FIFA World Cup, and was linked with several potential destinations. A switch to City now seems likely as a replacement for Rodri. Sources have told ESPN that City have rejected an offer from Barcelona of around €50 million for the Spain midfielder, who has entered the final year under contract at the Etihad Stadium.
- Aston Villa are closing in on the signing of Matteo Ruggeri from Atlético Madrid, Nicolo Schira reports. The 24-year-old left-back has agreed personal terms with the Premier League club, as he moves closer to signing at Villa Park until 2031. The move could free up Lucas Digne to leave the club, with the defender continuing to be linked with a switch to Paris Saint-Germain.
- Marseille's Pierre-Emile Højbjerg has emerged as a target for Newcastle United to bolster the midfield ranks, according to Footmercato. The former Tottenham Hotspur player could replace Bruno Guimarães, who has joined Arsenal. Marseille is looking to rebalance the club finances and may sanction an exit in the final few weeks of the window.
