Gomez: Win vs. Paraguay USMNT's best performance under Pochettino (1:22)

The United States is hosting the World Cup this summer, alongside Mexico and Canada, for the first time since 1994 -- and it could not be off to a better start.

After one round of games, the Americans sit atop Group D thanks to a big 4-1 win over Paraguay. Up next, they will face Australia, before finishing up against Türkiye.

If the USMNT can keep getting big performances out of Christian Pulisic, Folarin Balogun, Weston McKennie and others, then the Americans can continue to dream big about going further than the USMNT ever has in the modern Men's World Cup.

ESPN rounds up everything you need to know during the USA's World Cup campaign.

USA's 2026 World Cup fixtures, results

GROUP STAGE

USA vs. Paraguay -- Friday, June 12

Result: USA win, 4-1

The USMNT kicked off its campaign against Paraguay, who is at its first World Cup in 16 years. Thanks to goals from Balogun and Gio Reyna, the U.S. came away with a resounding win.

USA vs. Australia -- Friday, June 19

Result: USA win, 2-0

After an Aussie own-goal, Alex Freeman headed the co-hosts into a 2-0 lead that they would not relinquish, and the USMNT earned consecutive wins in a World Cup for the first time since 1930 and booked their place in the knockout rounds.

USA vs. Türkiye -- Thursday, June 25

10 p.m. ET, Los Angeles Stadium, Inglewood, California -- FOX/Telemundo

The United States will be based in Irvine, California, throughout the 2026 World Cup, using Orange County Great Park as its training headquarters. This isn't the first time that the United States will be staying in Orange County as it had its base in Mission Viejo when it last hosted in 1994.

Given that the United States' matches are on the West Coast with matches in California and Washington, the players will be staying at the Marriott Irvine Spectrum, which will mean less travel compared to several other participating countries.
