Betis v Feyenoord

Betis make it nine points from a possible nine in the Champions League, as they defeat Feyenoord 1-0 thanks to an Isco penalty. The hosts came out with so much energy and enthusiasm in the first half, with Bartra and Parrott both forcing saves from Ernst in goal. It wasn't until a few minutes from the interval in which we saw the best opportunity of the half, but Zechiel missed a glorious chance from just yards out. Betis were gifted the moment to score the opener as the hour mark approached, as St. Juste was deemed to have handled from Ezzalzouli’s cross. Isco stepped up and made no mistake, placing the ball into the bottom-right corner, sending Ernst the wrong way. Feyenoord never managed to threaten enough in the final third of the match, as Betis perhaps looked more likely to extend their lead than concede an equaliser. The hosts ended the evening with an impressive 23 shots and an xG of 1.96 (Feyenoord with 0.79 xG). Betis go level on points with five sides at the top, as they sit in fifth. For Feyenoord, they drop to 26th place, with three points on the board. Next up for Betis is a trip to Germany, where they face Borussia Dortmund – Feyenoord host Inter. Thank you all for tuning in and have a great evening!
