Wests Tigers have secured the signature of veteran Newcastle Knights forward Tyson Frizell on a one-year deal for the 2027 NRL season, ESPN can reveal.
The former NSW Blues and Australia representative will join Benji Marshall's side next season, bringing an end to his six-year stint with the Knights.
ESPN reported the Tigers' interest in Frizell early last month, with the joint venture having since moved to square him away at what will be his fourth NRL club.
Frizell's arrival will provide the Tigers with a significant injection of experience and leadership as Marshall continues to strengthen his roster ahead of the 2027 campaign.
The 35-year-old has been a mainstay of Newcastle's forward pack since arriving from St George Illawarra in 2021, establishing himself as one of the club's most experienced performers.
Having previously represented both Australia and NSW at representative level, Frizell brings a wealth of experience to a Tigers outfit looking to establish itself as a consistent finals contender.
The experienced back-rower has amassed more than 300 NRL appearances across spells with Cronulla, St George Illawarra and Newcastle.
His signing represents another addition to Marshall's forward stocks as the Tigers continue their preparations for the 2027 season.
