Penrith forward Isaiah Papali'i has agreed to a contract extension with the Panthers, while several clubs have expressed interest in St George Illawarra centre Moses Suli.
ESPN understands Papali'i has reached an agreement to remain at Penrith beyond the expiry of his existing contract at the end of 2027.
The length of the extension is yet to be confirmed, while the Panthers have not formally announced the agreement.
Papali'i joined Penrith from Wests Tigers ahead of the 2025 season and has become an integral part of the Panthers' pack.
The 27-year-old has offered experience and versatility across the back row and middle, with his retention providing Penrith further stability as the club plans its roster beyond 2027.
Suli opens up on Dragons uncertainty
Meanwhile, Moses Suli has opened up on the difficulty of being granted permission to leave St George Illawarra during a challenging year on and off the field.
Suli remains contracted to the Dragons through the end of 2027, but ESPN understands several clubs have expressed interest in his services. Remaining at St George Illawarra next season also remains a possibility.
The 28-year-old has battled injury and inconsistent form and spent time in NSW Cup before earning his way back into the NRL side.
Suli said becoming a father helped provide perspective during a turbulent season.
"It was kind of tough," Suli told ESPN.
"I was injured and playing inconsistent footy, and then it was kind of hard getting told that I was given permission to leave the club.
"But knowing it was home time and going home to see my daughter was probably a better feeling. Seeing her smile brings joy to me. She's my life, she's everything to me and I'll do anything for her."
With several possibilities surrounding his future, Suli said securing stability for his family would be an important consideration.
"I want to organise my life and set myself up for the next couple of years," he said.
"I feel like my best footy is still in front of me. I don't know what my plan is, but for now I've still got one more year here at the Dragons.
"I definitely want to prove myself and stay, but whatever happens, happens."
Clubs monitor Bryenton after Bulldogs fallout
Several clubs are monitoring highly rated Canterbury prospect David Bryenton after the Bulldogs granted him a release for the remainder of 2026.
Bryenton joined Canterbury on a three-year agreement after emerging as one of Australia's leading schoolboy talents, but his time at Belmore unravelled months into the first season of the deal.
The 18-year-old subsequently returned to Queensland and is currently playing for the Ipswich Jets.
ESPN understands Bryenton has only been released from his Canterbury commitments for this season, with the Bulldogs retaining his rights for the remaining two years of his contract.
Several rival clubs are now monitoring his situation should he become available beyond 2026.
