Will Kennedy stay?
Sharks Fullback Will Kennedy has said that he is used to taking one year deals with Cronulla following his recent extension, however, admitted he cannot see himself playing for another club as he nears the November 1 free agency window.
"Yeah, it would feel weird going to a different club," Kennedy said.
He admitted the prospect of playing for the PNG Chiefs "it really doesn't really cross [his] mind" despite being eligible to play for a new club in 2028, with the Sharks at the forefront of his priorities.
Addo-Carr backs Munster move to PNG
Josh Addo-Carr has backed former Melbourne teammate Cameron Munster as an ideal marquee target for the PNG Chiefs, declaring the superstar five-eighth would be the first player he would pick if he was building the expansion side.
Munster's future has emerged as a major talking point ahead of PNG's entry into the NRL, particularly after the Queensland star indicated his future in Melbourne could be tied to long-time coach Craig Bellamy.
Having played alongside Munster during his time at the Storm, Addo-Carr believes the 31-year-old would be a transformative signing for the competition's newest franchise.
"If I could pick a side, he'd be the first person I pick, bro," Addo-Carr told ESPN.
"That's how I think. He's the most impactful player, or one of the best players I've ever played with.
"If he gets to go to PNG, they've got a good one."
Asked what makes Munster such a special player, Addo-Carr pointed to the instincts that have made him one of the NRL's premier playmakers.
"Smart. He's a natural football player. He's confident and he's a good person."
Addo-Carr also welcomed PNG's signing of Brian To'o, describing the opportunity for him to join the Chiefs as potentially "life changing" while helping grow rugby league in the country.
