It's a lighter schedule of games for NHL fans Wednesday, but all four matchups are captivating for one reason or another.
That includes the next matchup in the Battle of Alberta, along with a rematch between the Avalanche and Devils after New Jersey's 4-3 win on Oct. 20.
Here's a look at what you need to know for each game, including betting info and broadcast details:
Odds are provided by DraftKings and subject to change.

Philadelphia Flyers at Washington Capitals
7:30 p.m. ET (TNT) | WSH -238, O/U: 6.5
In the final season of Alex Ovechkin's record-breaking NHL career, he gets to play against all of his Metro Division rivals four times each. This will be the first showdown against the Flyers.
Ovechkin has 54 goals and 32 assists in 82 career regular-season games against Philly, including two tallies in the most recent matchup on March 31.
The two teams split their season series in 2025-26, and the Flyers would appear to need the two points quite a bit more given their lackluster start.

Calgary Flames at Edmonton Oilers
8:30 p.m. ET (ESPN) | EDM -218, O/U: 6.5
No matter the players involved, there is always a little extra juice when the NHL's two Alberta-based teams square off. That's no different this season, despite the fact that the Flames haven't made the postseason since 2022 -- when the Oilers knocked them out in five games in the second round.
This will be the first matchup between the clubs this season, and it will (likely) feature the NHL's second star of the week, Devin Cooley, in goal for the Flames.
On the other side, the Oilers have the NHL's first star of the week, Leon Draisaitl, who hopes to get the upper hand in this matchup. He'll have help; while Drasaitl is second in the NHL in scoring this season (24 points through 12 games), teammate Connor McDavid is first with 34 points.

New Jersey Devils at Colorado Avalanche
9 p.m. ET (ESPN+) | COL -192, O/U: 6.5
Just 25 hours after opening puck drop against the Central Division powerhouse Dallas Stars, the Devils will face off against the Central Division powerhouse Colorado Avalanche.
In the teams' first matchup this season, the Devils took a 3-1 lead early in the third period, and Jesper Boqvist made it 4-1 with an empty-netter at 16:05. The Avs got two back -- both scored by Artturi Lehkonen -- but couldn't find the equalizer.
Will Wednesday's game provide us another exciting finish?

Toronto Maple Leafs at Seattle Kraken
10 p.m. ET (ESPN+) | TOR -115, O/U: 6.5
It's still quite early in the season, but both of these teams enter this contest in playoff positions in their respective divisions after missing out on the postseason fun in 2026.
The Leafs will hope they get an effort like the one they had Saturday in Edmonton (a 7-2 win) as opposed to Monday in Calgary (a 5-2 loss). Seattle has also had some inconsistent results as of late, with wins over the Mammoth and Red Wings sandwiched between blowout losses to the Panthers and Wild.

Love it or hate, the shootout is a part of life in the modern NHL.
And on this date in 2017, a new record was set for the most consecutive shootout wins by a team.
Thanks to a goal by Gustav Nyquist, the Detroit Red Wings defeated the Florida Panthers 3-2 for their 12th straight victory via the shootout, eclipsing the previous record of 11, set by the 2005-06 Stars.
