Chiefs to sign Justin Tucker to practice squad (1:16)

The Kansas City Chiefs have signed five-time All-Pro kicker Justin Tucker, who hasn't played in the NFL since 2024, to their practice squad, sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Tucker, who turns 37 next month, did not play last season as he served a 10-game suspension for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy.

Tucker was accused of sexual misconduct by 16 massage therapists from eight high-end spas and wellness centers in the Baltimore area, according to a report by The Baltimore Banner in February 2025.

All of the alleged misconduct reportedly occurred between 2012 and 2016, during Tucker's first five seasons with the Baltimore Ravens.

Tucker has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing, calling the allegations "unequivocally false" and describing the Banner's report as "desperate tabloid fodder."

The Ravens released Tucker in May 2025, ending his 13-year run in Baltimore that included seven Pro Bowl selections and a Super Bowl victory in his rookie season.

Two months later, the NFL suspended Tucker for the first 10 games of the 2025 season. He served the entire suspension as a free agent and was eligible for reinstatement last November, when he had a tryout with the New Orleans Saints.

With the Chiefs, Tucker figures to serve as insurance to Harrison Butker, a fixture on Kansas City's three Super Bowl championship teams who has struggled this season. The 10-year veteran has missed five of 16 field goal attempts this season, including two misses in Sunday's loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

A source told Rapoport that Tucker was one of three kickers who worked out with the Chiefs on Tuesday, along with Harrison Mevis and Ben Sauls.

Butker remained the only kicker on the Chiefs' 53-man roster Wednesday morning.

The Ravens released Tucker with three years remaining on a four-year, $22 million contract extension that had made him the NFL's highest-paid kicker at the time. He was the longest-tenured player on the Ravens and the last one remaining from their Super Bowl championship roster in 2012.

At the time of the allegations and his subsequent release, Tucker was coming off the worst season of his career. He missed 10 total kicks in 2024 -- three more than in any previous season -- and his 73.3% conversion rate (22-of-30) on field goals ranked 31st in the NFL.
