EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers is expected to play Sunday against the Washington Commanders after missing a practice earlier in the week because of knee soreness.

Nabers didn't practice Wednesday. He was a limited participant the following day as he manages the right knee he injured last season.

It won't keep him from playing against the Commanders.

"He'll be ready to play Sunday," coach John Harbaugh said.

Left tackle Andrew Thomas (groin), running back Cam Skattebo (shoulder) and tight end Isaiah Likely (knee/groin) are also expected to play for the Giants despite being limited or missing practices this week.

Harbaugh wouldn't say whether this would be the new normal for Nabers. Thomas hasn't practiced the past few Wednesdays as the Giants try to keep him healthy for the season with maintenance days.

Nabers underwent surgery to repair a torn ACL in his right knee last season. He had a cleanup procedure earlier this year and missed all spring.

The Giants' No. 1 receiver returned to practice for the start of training camp but barely made it in time for the season opener against the Dallas Cowboys.

Nabers, who leads the Giants with 208 receiving yards this season, talked just last week about gaining more trust in his knee. He admitted at the start of the season that he was rusty, and he failed to reach 100 yards through the first three games.

He's coming off his most productive game of the season last week against the Arizona Cardinals. Nabers caught six passes on seven targets for 112 yards and a touchdown in the win.

Harbaugh never seemed overly concerned about Nabers' playing status this week. But it was something the Giants were monitoring.

Nabers had seemingly made it through the first few weeks unscathed.

"Just sore," Nabers said earlier this week. "Just sore. We'll see how the next day goes, but through the week, I'm usually sore. But this one was kind of a little bit more sore. I always continue to fight through it." The Giants (3-1) are looking to expand their lead in the NFC East with a win over the Commanders (1-3).
