INGLEWOOD, Calif. -- Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford passed Philip Rivers for sole possession of sixth on the NFL's career passing touchdown list after a stellar performance in Monday night's 28-6 win over the New York Giants.
Stafford's third-quarter 11-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Davante Adams was his 426th career regular-season touchdown, moving him past a tie with Rivers. It was also his third touchdown of the game -- he ended with four total to go along with 327 passing yards.
Stafford now trails only Tom Brady (649), Drew Brees (571), Peyton Manning (539), Aaron Rodgers (528) and Brett Favre (508) on the all-time list.
Stafford is the second player in NFL history with 25 or more three-passing-touchdown games for multiple franchises (25 Rams, 42 Lions), according to ESPN Research. Manning had 64 with the Colts and 29 with the Broncos.
