News: 1 day agoWatson brought in six of eight targets for 143 yards and two touchdowns in the Packers' 31-7 win over the Bears on Sunday.
Spin: Watson tied for the team lead in receptions with Matthew Golden while setting the pace in both receiving yards and targets. Watson struck for the first of his two touchdowns with a 42-yard grab that capped off Green Bay's 10-play opening drive. The veteran field-stretcher then added a spectacular contested 53-yard touchdown reception to put a stamp on the Packers' first drive of the second half, and Watson ultimately finished just five yards short of eclipsing the season-high 147 he put up in Week 1 against the Vikings. Watson will take a 26-474-6 line into a Week 6 home showdown against the Cowboys next Sunday night.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Watson has had quite the boom/bust NFL career and that was on full display in 2025. After missing the first seven games due to injury, Watson returned and scored 18-plus fantasy points four times, but averaged 7.7 in his other six outings. The oft-injured 2022 second-round pick has still yet to play a full regular season, but has weirdly finished with between 611 and 620 receiving yards in three of his four campaigns. Though Watson has yet to deliver a top-40 fantasy season, he's been extremely efficient in his vertical role, ranking exactly second in average depth of target, YPR and YPT each of the last two seasons. Durability is an obvious concern, but the 27-year-old could very well lead Green Bay in targets following Romeo Doubs' departure. Watson should be valued as a volatile flex option with added value in non-PPR leagues.
