News: 2 days agoHarden (ankle) has been ruled out for Thursday's preseason game against the Celtics, Serena Winters of FanDuel Sports Network Ohio reports.
Spin: Harden is dealing with right ankle soreness and will be held out of Cleveland's preseason opener. With the veteran guard sidelined, Jaylon Tyson will join Donovan Mitchell, Peyton Watson, Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen in the starting five.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Harden was traded to the Cavaliers midseason in exchange for Darius Garland, forming a dynamic backcourt with Donovan Mitchell. Pairing with Mitchell caps Harden's volume. and Harden's usage dropped dramatically after the trade in 26 games last season. In fact, it fell to a value that would have represented the second-lowest season-long Usage percentage over a full season since 2012. Expect his fantasy value this season to be lower than his norm, but even attenuated he remains an impact fantasy starter.
