Fantasy Men's Basketball
News: 2 days agoMitchell recorded 11 points (4-8 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 3-3 FT) and three assists across 17 minutes in Thursday's 124-113 preseason loss to the Celtics.
Spin: Mitchell played exclusively in the first half as Cleveland distributed minutes evenly among its starters, with all five logging exactly 17 minutes. With Cleveland prioritizing rotation evaluation during the preseason, Mitchell's modest workload shouldn't raise concerns about his regular-season offensive role. He should remain one of the team's go-to options ahead of the regular-season opener against the 76ers on Thursday, Oct. 22.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Mitchell has consistently been one of the most productive guards in fantasy, and last season was no exception. The Cavaliers made a big in-season trade, sending out Darius Garland and bringing back James Harden, but Mitchell's numbers remained largely consistent in 22 games next to Harden. Harden is a higher usage point guard than Garland but is also a better distributor which should ultimately lead to better looks for Mitchell. Mitchell's shot volume upside may be slightly capped but his efficiency improvement could be even more impactful.
