Brown posts triple-double as Nets cruise past Thunder

Rookie Dion Brown recorded a triple-double and John Ukomadu scored a game-high 23 points to power the Brooklyn Nets to a 108-90 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder in their NBA summer league finale Sunday at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.

Brown finished with 16 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds. Ukomadu added nine rebounds to his scoring outburst in a showcase performance for players looking to secure professional contracts. Dain Dainja was effective in the paint with 14 points, eight rebounds, three blocks and three steals for the Nets, while Aaron Scott contributed 15 points and five steals.

Steven Ashworth led the Thunder with 22 points, hitting four 3-pointers. Jabri Abdur-Rahim scored 17 points off the bench, and Bryce Harris had 13 points and 10 rebounds. Andrew Holifield chipped in 14 points for Oklahoma City, which finished its time in Las Vegas without a victory.

Brooklyn seized control of the game with a strong first quarter. After a back-and-forth start, the Nets pulled away and closed the period with a 37-24 advantage. They never trailed again, building a lead that grew to as many as 27 points and cruising through the second half to secure the win.
