Seattle-based amateur crimefighter Phoenix Jones, a.k.a Ben Fodor, signed with World Series of Fighting Championships on Wednesday.

Fodor (5-0-1), the subject of a recent ESPN feature, confirmed his WSOF deal via social media, following an initial report by USA Today. According to the USA Today report, Fodor is expected to make his promotional debut on April 10 Mashantucket, Connecticut against an opponent to be determined.

Shortly after the ESPN segment aired, Fodor posted a photo of himself online, holding what he said were fight contracts from "every organization I can think of." He ultimately chose to sign with WSOF.

"Why (WSOF), because they respect there (sic) fighters and won't ask you to stop being who you are," Fodor wrote on Twitter.

The 26-year-old is perhaps best known for dressing up as a superhero and seeking out criminal activity in Seattle. He was actually arrested in September 2001, after he moved in to stop what he perceived to be a street fight and used pepper spray. All charges were eventually dropped.

Fodor's older brother, Caros Fodor (10-4) has fought in multiple MMA organizations, including the UFC, Strikeforce and ONE Championship. Ben Fodor last fought for the Super Fight League in February, where he scored a submission victory against Jason Novelli. He fights in the 170-pound weight class.
