The final fight of Cris Cyborg's PFL contract will still take place this weekend despite her opponent missing weight by more than seven pounds.
Cyborg (29-2) is set to face Ketlen Vieira (16-5) in the main event of PFL Tampa at Benchmark International Arena on Saturday. Vieira weighed in for the 145-pound contest at 152.2 pounds Friday and is no longer eligible to claim Cyborg's championship even with a victory. Cyborg has publicly stated that this is the final fight of her current contract with the PFL and could be the last of her career.
Vieira's miss is significant not only in how widely she missed the mark, but also because the majority of her career has taken place at 135 pounds. The 34-year-old Brazilian is making her PFL debut.
"7 pounds?!," Cyborg wrote on X. "Chute Boxe style ... We don't care. Porrada. See you tomorrow."
Cyborg is considered one of the most influential pioneers in women's MMA history. She has been fighting professionally since 2005 and is riding a nine-fight win streak.
