Miami Marlins first baseman Kyle Stowers will undergo further evaluation after tweaking his left hamstring during Sunday's 12-3 victory against the Los Angeles Angels.
Stowers, who tripled and scored in the first inning, appeared to suffer the injury while getting out of the batter's box on his two-run single in the fifth inning. He grimaced as he rounded the bag and limped back to the dugout after he was replaced by pinch runner Leo Jimenez.
The Marlins described the injury as left hamstring discomfort.
Stowers, who is hitting .242 with 16 home runs and 52 RBIs through Sunday's game, missed games at the start of the season after suffering a Grade 1 right hamstring strain during spring training.
