VALPARAISO, Ind. -- — Garrett Hicks had 15 points in Samford's 79-61 win against Valparaiso on Tuesday.
Hicks shot 7 for 10, including 1 for 3 from beyond the arc for the Bulldogs (10-2). A.J. Staton-McCray added 13 points while finishing 6 of 11 from the floor, and he also had six rebounds. Achor Achor shot 5 of 9 from the field to finish with 10 points. The Bulldogs prolonged their winning streak to 10 games.
Cooper Schwieger finished with 15 points and seven rebounds for the Beacons (4-8). Sherman Weatherspoon IV added 11 points and two steals for Valparaiso. Jaxon Edwards also put up nine points. The loss was the Beacons' sixth in a row.
