FARGO, N.D. -- Tony Armstrong scored 20 points and Alabama State rallied to beat Division II Fort Valley State 105-89 on Wednesday night.
Trailing 55-46 at halftime, Alabama State (5-7) opened the second half with a 12-2 run and led 78-64 after the Hornets made six straight 3-pointers, including three by Jamel Waters. Glenn Hollaway's layup made it 101-84 and the Hornets cruised, shooting 75 percent in the half and a season-best 58 percent for the game.
Fort Valley State outshot Alabama State 67 percent to 45 in the first half, with the Hornets making just 3 of 14 3-pointers.
Waters scored 19 points, Bobby Brown added 16, Terrance LeFlore had 14, and Corvon Butler 13 for Alabama State (5-7).
