Poston with 22 points as Gardner-Webb beats Longwood 81-71

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. -- Dylan Poston scored 22 points as Gardner-Webb beat Longwood 81-71 on Saturday night.

Poston was 7 of 15 from the field including three from distance for the Bulldogs (15-14, 10-7 Big South). Isaiah Ivey added 16 points and nine rebounds and Adonis Burbage had 15 points, five rebounds and three assists. Harold McBride led the team with 10 assists in addition to scoring six points. Gardner-Webb had a 46-33 rebounding edge over Longwood.

McBride hit a 3-pointer early in the first half to cap a 12-0 start for Gardner-Webb. Later, Poston and Ivey sank back-to-back 3-pointers to stretch it to 45-23 with 2:10 left in the period. The Bulldogs had a 48-25 advantage by halftime and they led by double digits the rest of the way.

Darrion Allen and Shaquille Johnson scored 16 points apiece for the Lancers (8-21, 4-12). Lotanna Nwogbo added 14 points and 11 rebounds.
