George Mason wins third straight game, 68-60
DAYTON, Ohio -- Shevon Thompson scored 24 points and grabbed 14 rebounds for his third straight double-double and George Mason held off Wright State 68-60 on Tuesday night.
Isaiah Jackson, averaging 6.3 points per game, added 22 points, and Marko Gujanicic, averaging 3.0, had 11 for the Patriots (5-6), who won their third straight game. Jackson posted career highs in scoring and rebounds (eight).
JT Yoho scored 16 points and Joe Thomasson and Steve Davis 13 apiece for the Raiders (8-5), who had a four-game winning streak snapped.
George Mason had a 17-point lead with 15:14 left in the game but Wright State got back within two points at 62-60 on two free throws by Thomasson with 1:19 remaining.
Jackson had his shot blocked but got the putback for a four-point lead, and Wright State missed shots from underneath the basket on its next two possessions as the Patriots added four free throws down the stretch.
