Hofstra routs Jackson State 86-56
JACKSON, Miss. -- Brian Bernardi scored 26 points and Ameen Tanksley added 21 to lead Hofstra to an 86-56 rout of Jackson State on Friday night.
Bernardi hit six 3-pointers and Tanksley five from beyond the arc for the Pride (4-2), who snapped a 17-game non-conference road losing skid.
Hofstra led 37-25 at the break. Jackson State had a 13-6 run to pull within six, 44-38, with 12:45 to play. Tanksley hit a 3 and scored on a putback to make it 49-38 with less the 12 minutes left before using a 31-6 run to pull away.
Juan'ya Green finished with 14 points and had six assists and three steals for Hofstra.
Yettra Specks scored 14 points and Kaven Bernard added 12 for Jackson State (1-5), which shot just 29 percent from the field and was out-rebounded 41-31.
