HIGH POINT, N.C. -- Cameron Jones scored 17 points including a career-high four 3-pointers Tuesday and Radford beat High Point 67-64 to win its eighth straight, claiming a share of first place in the Big South Conference with the Panthers.
R.J. Price scored 16, including 4 of 7 3-pointers, and the Highlanders (17-7, 8-3) shot 8 of 18 from distance.
Price scored 10 in Radford's opening 12-4 run and the Highlanders never trailed, pulling to a 40-29 halftime lead on 61.5 percent shooting.
High Point rallied with a 17-6 second-half run to pull within 46-44 after a 3 by Adam Weary, then Weary pulled the Panthers within 63-62 with a layup with 38 seconds left. But Weary fouled Brandon Holcomb, who made both free throws to lead 65-62, and the Highlanders held on.
John Brown scored 21 for the Panthers (17-6, 8-3), Weary had 15, Devonte Wallace 10, and Jorge Perez-Laham a career-high six assists.
