Davis, Pepperdine rally 69-65 over San Diego
SAN DIEGO -- Stacy Davis scored 11-straight points late in the second half to spark Pepperdine toward a 69-65 comeback over San Diego on Saturday night.
Davis' 11-point run for Pepperdine put the Waves within one, 63-62, with 3:02 left to play. Brendan Lane threw down a dunk to give the Waves their first lead since the 11:48 mark of the second half.
The lead changed twice more, and Jito Kok missed his final two free throws for San Diego's last chance to pull ahead. Pepperdine (11-7, 4-2 West Coast) scored three more points from the line to put the game out of reach.
Davis finished with 28 points and 10 rebounds in his fifth double-double of the season, and Jeremy Major chipped in 12 points and five assists.
Dennis Kramer scored 17 points to lead the Toreros (10-8, 1-4).
Pepperdine will host No. 22 Gonzaga on Thursday.
