Late surge gets New Hampshire past Albany, 60-56
DURHAM, N.H. -- Jordon Bronner and Jacoby Armstrong converted back-to-back three-point plays to help New Hampshire put the finishing touches on a 60-56 win over Albany Thursday night.
New Hampshire trailed by six points, 50-44, with under seven minutes to play, but Daniel Dion brought the Wildcats back with a 3-pointer and, following a pair of free throws by Armstrong, a layup to take the lead at 51-50.
Bronner's three-point play made it 54-51 with two minutes left. Armstrong was fouled on a dunk and his free throw made it 57-54 with 1:09 left. Bronner added a pair of free throws with 10 seconds left to complete the scoring.
Bronner and Dion scored 14 and 13 points, respectively, to lead New Hampshire (4-15, 2-4 America East).
D. J. Evans scored 22 points and Gary Johnson contributed another 10 to lead Albany (10-10, 4-3).
