Harvard beats Northeastern 72-64
BOSTON -- Kyle Casey scored 17 points and collected three rebounds as Harvard beat Northeastern 72-64 on Wednesday night.
Wesley Saunders had 17 points with three rebounds and a pair of assists and Evan Cummins came off the bench to score 10 points with six rebounds. Siyani Chambers chipped in with eight points, four rebounds and a team-high eight assists. Harvard hit 56.5 from the field overall and downed 63 percent from the line.
The Crimson (8-1) led 34-29 at the break and maintained a single-digit edge over Northeastern through most of the second period. With 9:45 left to play, Chambers sank a 3-point jumper to widen the Harvard lead to 10.
Marco Banegas-Flores brought Northeastern to within eight with a layup as the final seconds ticked off.
Reggie Spencer led the Huskies (2-6) with 16 points, six rebounds and a steal.
